Director of Accounting – International

 

Overall 

Rubrik is seeking a highly effective and motivated Director of Accounting-International with passion and a proven track record for excellence in US GAAP accounting, global statutory accounting and reporting, innovation through technology, operational transformation and strong leadership skills. We are seeking a leader who delivers results and who will be a key driver in helping us scale our global accounting organization. This role requires strong global statutory accounting and reporting knowledge, including extensive experience with India corporate accounting filings and compliance, experience with accounting systems which support both US GAAP and statutory books, as well as effective collaboration skills with a corporate accounting team. In this role, expectations are high with regards to possessing outstanding communication, collaboration and influencing skills. This role will focus on optimizing our international accounting organization and will require collaboration with cross-functional teams to lead to optimal solutions. Reporting to the Sr Director of Accounting & Tax, you will lead the international accounting organization and have responsibility for a diverse range of accounting, finance, and compliance duties.

Specifics

  • Responsible for leading international corporate accounting with 3 direct reports and a current global team of 12 members, but growing
  • Lead efforts to execute all international accounting processes and activities to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP accounting, statutory accounting and reporting, as well as internal policies and external audits
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual international financials with flux analysis as well as account reconciliations
  • Manage all global statutory audits and working with external auditors to support their annual audit procedures
  • Ensure compliance for all the extensive corporate accounting filings for India, including all filings associated with a special economic zone status
  • Partner with corporate Director of Accounting, as well as other teams such as FP&A, Technical Accounting, Finance Systems and others to develop, support, and improve the systems, policies, and procedures necessary to drive efficiency and provide meaningful financial data.
  • Possess a deep understanding of ERP systems 
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment, ensuring compliance with SOX controls 
  • Provide leadership required to grow and strengthen the international accounting team, with a commitment to recruiting, training and mentoring
  • Develop and mentor accounting staff to build their professional career and maximize potential
  • Be an on-site resource for other accounting team members based in India

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting 
  • Chartered Accountant 
  • 10 years accounting and finance experience including Big 4 firm, and preferably a minimum of 4 years recent experience in a large company 
  • Minimum 3 years recent experience in an accounting leadership position, managing people 
  • Solid technical knowledge of India GAAP, US GAAP and global statutory accounting standards including IFRS
  • Proven experience in optimizing accounting & finance processes, as well as experience with scaling and automation of processes
  • Prior experience with SOX controls, documentation & processes
  • Exceptional people manager skills, open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to getting the job done
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic accounting department, successfully juggling multiple projects and deliverables
  • Netsuite and Blackline experience 
  • Experience with special economic zone (SEZ) status is a big plus
  • Merger and acquisition integration experience is a plus

In consideration of any disclosure of certain nonpublic or confidential information, you hereby enter into this Nondisclosure Agreement (the “Agreement”) and agree as follows:

Confidential Information is provided to you “as is” and the Company makes no warranties with respect to the Confidential Information or any materials provided by the Company.  In no event will the Company be liable for the accuracy or completeness of the Confidential Information.  You understand that nothing herein (i) requires the disclosure of any Confidential Information of the Company or (ii) requires the Company to proceed with any transaction or relationship.  You understand that this Agreement does not obligate the Company to disclose any information or negotiate or enter into any agreement or relationship.
  7. Miscellaneous.  The terms of this Agreement will remain in effect with respect to any particular Confidential Information until you can document that such Confidential Information falls into one of the exceptions stated in Section 2 above.  You acknowledge and agree that due to the unique nature of the Confidential Information, any breach of this Agreement would cause irreparable harm to Company for which damages are not an adequate remedy, and that Company shall therefore be entitled to equitable relief in addition to all other remedies available at law.  This Agreement is personal to you, nonassignable by you, governed by the internal laws of the State of California and may be modified or waived only in writing signed by both parties.  If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, such provision will be limited or deleted to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining terms remain in full force and effect.  The prevailing party in any dispute or legal action regarding the subject matter of this Agreement shall be entitled to recover attorneys’ fees and costs.
