Salesforce Customer Opinions: Survey Says… 

During Dreamforce, we conducted a survey that revealed some striking statistics about Salesforce data protection:

  • 55% of Salesforce users have experienced data loss, with accidental deletion being the leading cause (33%).

  • 61% of respondents were able to restore Salesforce data within the same day, while 28% reported it took 1-3 days or longer.

  • 36% of organizations do not use a backup solution for their Salesforce data, leaving them vulnerable to data loss.

  • Only 14% of Salesforce admins feel very confident in their ability to recover lost data quickly and completely.

These findings highlight a critical gap in the market—data loss is all too common, yet many organizations lack the proper tools to address it efficiently.

One recurring theme we heard at Dreamforce was dissatisfaction with existing solutions due to restore failures and slow recovery times. This is crucial, as nearly one-third of respondents still reported taking 1-3 days or more to restore lost Salesforce data.

2. Ease of Use and Platform Consolidation  

The survey also found that 36% of organizations do not use any backup solution for Salesforce. So there is an obvious (and essential) need for unified data protection.
